Available on weekdays by appointment, Catcare Veterinary Clinic in Richmond is pleased to provide custom cat grooming. We are first and foremost a veterinary hospital devoted to cats. We offer grooming services to patients of our medical practice. In our experience many older cats who suddenly require grooming actually have undiagnosed health conditions such as oral pain, spinal pain, arthritis, kidney disease, cancer, or hyperthyroidism.
An annual health exam will give us the medical information we need to safely groom your cat whenever needed for a full year.

FULL DAY GROOMING – SEDATION AVAILABLE
To provide the most comfortable experience possible for your pet, we require cats to be with us for the full day. By doing so, we can help reduce anxiety by completing the groom in shorter sessions. However, no matter how reassuring we try to be, some cats require sedation to safely accomplish our goal. If sedation is required, the groom becomes a medical procedure and the doctor will call you first. Depending on your cat’s health situation, we will then be able to provide a customized sedation protocol.
LION CLIP HAIRCUTS
As the only comfortable way to remove tight matts, our most popular groom is the lion clip haircut, done with the safety of electric clippers. Many owners also find that a lion clip each spring leaves their cat happy and cool, and they find fewer hairballs around the house.
